New Career Opportunities

Amyris Bio Products Portugal, Unipessoal, Lda, a fully-owned subsidiary of Amyris Inc. (Nasdaq: AMRS) and Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto are starting the Alchemy Project, co-financed by Portugal 2020 under the Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalization through the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER).

The Alchemy Project is one of the largest biotechnology programs ever co-financed by Portugal 2020 and will be based in a new biotech facility on the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, campus in Porto.

The first phase of the project, running until 31/12/2022, has as its main objectives:

• Economic valorization of coproducts/residues from fermentative processes;
• Building software products intended to facilitate and improve the design process;
• Improvement of fermentation processes to increase biomolecules production efficiency;
• Creation of an innovative scientific approach to accelerate the discovery of disruptive applications of new biomolecules that could be commercialized in a myriad of market applications as the nutraceutical, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, human and animal nutrition, agrochemical, and materials industries.

In the scope of this project, Amyris Bio Products Portugal and Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto are recruiting several research teams.
