CBQF Research work awarded at the International Conference on Polyphenols and Health

The CBQF/ESB/UCP research work "Pineapple by-products functional flours - Stability upon to simulated gastrointestinal tract and human intestinal microbiota", presented at the 9th International Conference on Polyphenols and Health, was awarded with a Letter of Commendation (in recognition of the distinguished contribution) and a Travel award.

Carried out in the scope of Debora Campos Ph.D., its main conclusion is that “the pineapple flours can be considered a natural controlled release system of phenolic compounds, exerting a positive effect upon all extent of human gastrointestinal tract.” The researcher Débora Campos wrote this paper with the CBQF/ESB/UCP researchers: Ricardo Gómez-García, Ana A. Vilas-Boas and Manuela Pintado.

The 9th International Conference on Polyphenols and Health (http://icph2019.umin.jp) was held between November 28 and December 1st, in Kobe, Japan.
