The International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) is the global scientific organization and voice of food science and technology, representing more than 200,000 food scientists and technologists from more than 70 countries. The vision of IUFoST is to strengthen the science and technology of global food for humanity. Its mission is to promote international cooperation and exchange of information, to provide education and training for food scientists and technologists worldwide and to promote professionalism and professional organization among scientists and food technologists.
A Prof. Cristina L.M. Silva has been dedicating part of her career to education and training in the area of food science and engineering. The renewal in 2018 of the invitation to remain on the IUFoST education committee is a recognition of its international work in the field of education in food science and technology.
