ESB researcher Ivone Vaz-Moreira has recently collaborated in one of the FEMS (European Federation of Microbiology Societies) volunteer projects. The "ALAM project" involved the translation into Portuguese and Spanish of a set of summaries of articles recently published by Latin American authors, as well as the translation into English of articles originally published in Portuguese or Spanish.

The purpose of the work was to sensitize and reach a wider audience, highlighting the valuable work of the Latin American scientific community. These publications are now available on the FEMS website and will also be announced at the ALAM (Latin American Microbiology Association) Congress, to be held in November 2018 in Chile.
