
Helena Rodrigues has a Bachelors’ degree in Biochemistry (2015) from the School of Sciences of the University of Minho. During this multidisciplinary graduation, she became increasingly interested in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. Therefore, she joined the master in Applied Biochemistry (in the field of Biotechnology) at the same institution and she finished her master degree in 2017. All academic background offered her the opportunity to improve the theoretical and practical knowledge in her areas of interest. This was paramount for her personal and professional growth as an aspiring young scientist. Currently, she is a researcher at Portuguese Catholic University, where she works in a project related with food Microbiology and Biotechnology. Her main areas of interest are Applied Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, specifically in the food and health fields.
