I am pharmacist doctorate in biomedical engineering by Uiversity of Minho. During my PhD I developed expertise in biomaterials synthesis and characterization, biocompatibility and in vitro an in vivo efficacy of engineered nanoparticles. After completion my PhD, I collaborated in the Veterinary Cellular Therapies group at ICBAS, as a Postdoc researcher until February 2019. During that time, I worked in biomaterials characterization and biological performance evaluation in vitro and in vivo, for regenerative medicine associated with cellular therapies.
Currently, I am a researcher at Universidade Católica do Porto and Amyris Inc., joint project and involved in the development of pharmaceutical, cosmetic and functional food and animal feed innovative products from residual products from sugarcane processing. In this project we work with close proximity with the major international industries of cosmetic, food and feed and pharmaceutical areas. I am certified in Laboratory Animal Science Course, Category C (FELASA, by FMUP) and accordingly certified by the DGAV for animal experimentation.
