Abstract
The Lab2Business project seeks to transfer and valorise scientific and technological knowledge for the agro-food sector, based on the specialized skills of the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro and the Escola Superior de Biotecnologia – Universidade Católica Portuguesa, involving research and units of advanced studies.
This project aims to strengthen the transfer of knowledge and technology to the agro-food business sector, thus promoting value creation and creating synergies with SCT Entities. The Agro-food Sector is a relevant area of the European and national economy, having undergone considerable evolution in the last years, adapting products to the taste of the consumers while trying to process them in a healthier way and presenting innovative characteristics in order to make them more competitive.
The project is based on the search for an international positioning of the region in the area of Agro-food with an internationalization present in the various activities, and supported in an advisory council that we intend based on experts from knowledge transfer centers specialized in the area of Europe (Wageningen) and Latin America. It is also an underlying objective to contribute to the support of Research and Innovation capacities in the Agro-food sector based on the intervention in a specialized axis in the area between the UCP-ESB and UTAD.
